The Thiele Centre intends to serve as a pre-eminent centre for stochastics, playing a central role in the development of the discipline both nationally and internationally.

The general aims of the centre are to:

• develop advanced stochastic models and statistical inference procedures,
• promote interdisciplinary collaboration,
• contribute to the training of a new generation of scientists in stochastics.
